Well, not only that, but due to the nature of my feeds, I end up getting the same stories from 18 different sites, and then later in the day they post their hands-on pics, then their videos, then their thoughts, then their commentary on what was missing from the announcement, then a reader poll, and it's not even 3p yet.
I mean, yes it's important, personally and professionally, for me to scope the specs and whatnot, but then it's filed away and I have better things to do all day .
I've pretty much decided that I'll be renewing my AT&T contract for a cheap refurb'd Tilt and tossing Android on there. Both HTC and there are a few threads on XDA-Developers that are doing it.
In any case, we've all already seen the specs list, so there's not much 'new' to be seen, really.
@ollywompus - sure, but you're not going to get anything really reliable from a blogger/journalist who has played with the thing for 10 minutes at the launch event.
Amazon MP3 store is a big hit towards the iPhone, but it's still limited to downloading only over WiFi. I'll stick with Symella on my N95-3 with HSDPA. :)
I spent over an hour, almost 2 with the device and posted my thoughts on my blog. BTW, Nowak is with HTC here in Seattle now. I had a beer with him yesterday

like you i stopped giving a damn about phone announcements since 99% of the time you are not able to buy the thing until later anyway.

@ollywompus - dude, there's zero doubt, this G1 is a direct missile aimed at AT&T and the iPhone.
No video recording, no A2DP, MP3 downloads on the phone, etc.
