You know, after this update it is at least a lot more livable in the browser. It's still got UX issues, but it seems like this update at least paves the way to making this much closer to what the marketing materials say it is.

the browser is much more reponsive and scrollng is smooth ... should have been that way from the start, I agree

So how would you get a nice big screen in a smaller package then? No roll up screen suggestions allowed.

@constantine, would you rather a smaller screen so it can be a smaller device? I think the screen is ok, or even a little bit small if I had to go one way or the other.

It's pocket size @constantine. Larger and you need a bag .. starts creeping into using a small laptop / large umpc. This type of device is a tweener ... Seems like it's being categorized as a MID now though the NIT certainly pre-dates that Intel-centric naming.

Agreed - the hardware is perfect, minus the camera. It's the software they need to focus on, now

I'm wish @constantine really. The bezel needs to be made considerably smaller than even the transistion from the N800 to the N810 did. Device thickness isn't bad, but the bezel, a flush screen, and maybe some nice software-driven, context-mode-shifting, haptic-having action can be had on that keyboard :D

As for the software, I've been impressed at how all the little updates with Diablo have made it more usable for day-to-day stuff. Like I said before, it needs a UI/UX overhaul at this point, but its at least looking like there is something solid to build on now.

More than 3.5 inches is too big, look at the iPhone, that should be the maximum size.

I got screen rotation working. With iPhone Google Reader, I am quite content. Just wish Mauku was working again.

Mauku works; just change/add the repository to Chinook and you will be able install it

I think 4in is fine, 5in is max for screen size; with little bezel one can have a solid device that's pocketable, and also suitable to keep in hand for reading/browsing.

Are you wearing pants designed by MC Hammer?

@arjw: I installed Mauku fine. It hasn't updated itself since yesterday, though.

I keep my tablet in my cargo pockets... And on the chance i'm not wearing, i can fit it in my back pocket... Take it out when i sit, and leave on my lap...
